I emphasize self-esteem, self-confidence, and dignity, not as an ideal, but as a real test of community organization. Without leadership development, community organizations do not have staying power.
Paul Wellstone
I finally did it……created something that shares all of me with all of you on both a professional and personal level.
That’s how I feel about my new playbook, Unconquerable: Words to help start your day and start a movement!
Here I say all the things I have always wanted to say. In this document I share my wisdom after 25 plus years in the sector. I also share my hopes and dreams for our future. To say this was a joy to create was an understatement.
I’m really excited about this product and I want to share it with anyone who like me believes in the power of community and is committed to work that transforms us as individuals, organizations, family, neighbors and friends.
What I know to be true….
I spend a lot of time working with leaders of organizations. Leaders looking for answers, support and help. One thing I learned early in my career is that people do not work hard for only a paycheck or even an organization.
People work hard for other people. People that inspire them.
I have done it myself. I have had a few rare amazing managers, CEOs or senior leaders that have inspired me to be better. To do more. It was not always easy working for or with them, that creativity and energy comes at a cost…but damn was it powerful. I loved every day of it– no matter how hard the task, how outrageous the goal.
Inspiration
They did not just see what was possible and reasonable. They did not always compromise. They saw the future and prepared others around them to see it as well. They prepared us to see something more. Big ideas matter, especially to those that they inspire. They feed and sustain us. They frustrate and scare us. They call us to act . They call us to question. They call us to fail.
They call us to step into greatness.
True movements do not always have CEOs, but they do have soul. Movements happen when thousands of people discover their power and in doing so discover their possibilities. The soul of any movement is inspiration. Sometimes you just need to hear the words. Words that inspire you to tap into your own greatness.
Organizations that are successful have tapped into their purpose and their passion. I hope these words inspire you to act, to move, to connect, to create, to transform. Please enjoy Unconquerable: Words to help start your day and start a movement!
It was a true labor of love.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book and I can’t wait for it to get out in the world in a BIG way. I know it will change lives and make a difference.
For me the biggest take-away message from your awesome book (and your life!) is the importance of working *within* a community. Too often I keep my plans “close to my chest” because I don’t want people to know if they fail. Now I see that sharing in community and getting help from the community is the KEY to them not failing. This insight is GOLD.
I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work in creating this book. I know it will make a huge difference in the world.
